Kony 2012

           Everyone on this planet knows somebody who has a child of their own. You know that they would do anything to protect their child and make sure that no harm would come to them. I know that if me and my wonderful boyfriend were to ever get married and have children, I would defend those children with my life. No bond is stronger than that of a parent and a child. 
    Every night in Uganda, children are hiding in fear that they could be ripped from their home and taken away from their parents. They spend their lives in fear, unlike the children that live in North America. Sure, there are children here that fear everyday that they could be taken away from their parents, but that depends on the functionality of the parents, not the actions of the child. In Uganda Joseph Kony is taking children from their homes. Thousands of children, that disappear from their homes and most of the time never return to their families. Kony gives them guns, and forces them to kill people, instilling a new fear. He uses the girls as sex slaves, forcing them to sleep with many men. He is the leader of the LRA, the Lord's Resistance Army.
      Joseph Kony needs to be stopped. There is no doubt in my mind that the voices of people have grown stronger. I have never seen a video  shared so quickly, and a topic spread so widely ever in my facebooking and tweeting life. I do admit that I see this from 2 different sides, as my parents raised me to. I agree with my whole heart that Kony needs to be stopped, that support needs to come from those who have a voice, such as every citizen on this planet. I also am wondering, how many people would be offering to help efforts if they hadn't seen the video circulating. How many people took time from their day to sit and watch the entire video? I believe that there are good people in this world, but I also believe that there are more people who do something just to fit in. 

     I am fighting to arrest Joseph Kony. This man needs to be stopped.  I have cousins, siblings, friends, etc. I know so many children If it was someone you know, would you want to fight for their safety? Fight to help somebody's child.
